Upcoming phones launching in August 2023: OnePlus Open, Redmi 12 5G, Vivo V29 series, more

July was an incredibly busy month for smartphones. We saw the launch of several devices including the Nothing Phone (2), Samsung’s foldables, the OnePlus Nord 3 5G, and many more. However, as the dust clears on the month of July, we head into August.

And if the rumours are to be believed, the next month promises to be just as exciting. Both OnePlus and Xiaomi are expected to bring foldable smartphones next month. Here is our list of upcoming phones launching in August 2023.

Upcoming Phones August 2023 (China Launches)

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will debut as the second smartphone from the brand to utilise the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. OnePlus also confirmed that the Ace 2 Pro will be the first smartphone to use an aerospace-grade 3D cooling system. The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro could debut globally as the OnePlus 12R.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is set to get its debut in China next month. The Mix Fold 3 will take on the likes of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, although there’s no information if the device will be unveiled outside China. The Mix Fold 3 will also offer a capable camera system co-developed with Leica.

Upcoming Phones launching in August 2023 (Global)

OnePlus is expected to unveil its first foldable smartphone in August 2023. The smartphone is expected to be called the OnePlus Open. The device is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a main 2K AMOLED display, and a triple-camera setup, which is similar to that on the OnePlus 11 5G. The OnePlus Open launch event might take place on August 29 in New York.

The Vivo V29 series is expected to make its global and Indian debut next month. The Vivo V29 series will include the Vivo V29 and Vivo V29 Pro. The Vivo V29 series will arrive as a rebranded version of the Vivo S17 series, which debuted in China back in May.

Realme will introduce its first flagship smartphone of 2023 next month. The Realme GT 5 has already been teased and is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Additionally, the Realme GT 5 will also feature a 144Hz OLED display and a 50 MP triple-camera setup. The Realme GT 5 could debut sometime in China next month, following which it will be unveiled globally.

Upcoming Smartphones August 2023 (Sales)

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is yet to go on sale in India and globally for the first time in August. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 brings standard generational upgrades over its predecessor. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will also be available for purchase in India and across the globe from August 2023.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 eliminates any gap when the device is folded and more importantly has a new and improved cover screen that covers half of the back panel. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 price in India starts from Rs 1,54,999. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 price in India has been hike to Rs 99,999 for the base model.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G had first been unveiled in July 2023 but the device will go on sale in India for the first time in August 2023. The OnePlus Nord CE 3 is expected to debut in India’s sub-25K segment. It expected to go on sale in India from August 5.

Upcoming phones launching in August 2023 (Unique Aesthetics)

Infinix is set to launch a new smartphone series in India. The Infinix GT 10 Pro launch date in India is set for August 3. Moreover, the company also confirmed that the Infinix GT 10 Pro price in India will fall in the sub-20K segment. The Infinix GT Zero 10 Pro features a unique design and finish with LED lights.

The Tecno Pova 5 Pro is also expected to make its debut on August 7. The Pova 5 Pro 5G will take a page out of Nothing’s playbook with an LED light back panel. However, unlike Nothing’s single white LED light, the POVA 5 Pro 5G boasts support for RGB colours at the back, promising a more dynamic and vibrant visual experience.

Upcoming Smartphones in August 2023 (Budget Smartphones)

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch two new budget smartphones in India on August 1. The Redmi 12 4G and Redmi 12 5G are launching in India on August 1. The Redmi 12 5G is expected to feature a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, a 90Hz FHD+ display, a 5,000 mAh battery, and a 50 MP primary camera sensor.

The Moto G14 is set to make its debut in India on August 1. Motorola’s latest affordable smartphone will feature a Unisoc chipset, FHD+ display, 50 MP primary camera sensor, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging. The Moto G14 price in India is expected to fall between Rs 10,000 and Rs 11,000.
